The first incarnation of The Nice Jenkins began sometime in 2003 when a host of musicians decided to meet and collectively create and record music in a variety of settings from pastoral to urban to maritime. The connections established during those sessions inspired the formation of The Nice Jenkins family. Members of the group moved to Charlottesville, Va. and began performing in 2004.

The music produced by The Nice Jenkins has taken many forms since its early days. They have produced three albums of their music: The Wildcat and Ocean Isle Sessions, The Stormhurst Sessions, and The World Famous Hallelujah Cotton Candy Rent Party.
